Changing Partners
The Ward Carter system of teaching group lessons is built on changing partners. This is the man’s opportunity to learn how to lead different ladies and similarly, the opportunity for the ladies to learn to follow leads form different men. This teaching method is proven to help you become a better dancer. If you and your partner make mistakes on a step, you will realize it when you dance with the next partner. If for some reason you do not want to change partners, you would be best serve by taking a private lesson.
Practice Makes Perfect
To aid in your learning, practicing truly does help. Learning dance requires some repetition. Call and reserve your practice time. The cost is $10 per hour. There is no charge for customers that purchase a package of private lessons.
Refunds
If there is a reason you are unable to take a class after you have registers, Ward Carter Dance will credit the price of the class with a credit voucher, less a 10% processing fee before the class. You can use the credit voucher for other classes or private lessons. No credits will be issued after the first class. We do not offer cash refunds. Credits are not issues on repeat classes.
Health
You are advised to consult a physician before starting any physical activity, including dance. The instructors and studio management disclaim liability for loss or injury sustained in conjunction with any advise, activity or demonstration.
Notice and Release of Waiver
Any person who enrolls and participates in dance lessons and classed, hereinafter referred to as Student, at Ward Carter Dance Studio, hereinafter referred to as Studio, as a Condition Precedent to any participation Agrees to the following:
Warning
Lessons in recreational dancing constitute a healthy, enjoyable form of exercise which is very safe for most people. A student with any doubt whatsoever about his/her physical condition or ability to safely participate should seek the advice of a physician before enrollment. Student has a duty to disclose to Studio: a heart condition requiring only medically supervised physical activity, chest pains with or without physical activity, a past stroke, loss of balance due to dizziness, loss of consciousness, recent surgery, pregnancy, having given birth in last six months, diabetes, asthma, low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia), back problems, bone or joint problems, arthritis or osteoporosis, epilepsy, respiratory ailments, high blood pressure or any other health problem that causes Student pain or limitations that must be addressed with respect to Student receiving dance lessons, and including health changes that occur after commencing participation.
Release of Liability
Know all men by these presents; whereas I (Student) am about to enroll and participate in dance lessons and classes, and am doing so entirely upon my own initiative and responsibility, now therefore, in partial consideration of the dance instruction given to me by Studio through its owners and agents, I do hereby affirm that I am in good health and am physically able to participate in dance lessons and classes and assume all risks of personal injury, death and property damage from any causes whatsoever arising out of dance lessons and classes, and I do hereby, for myself, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and administrators, unconditionally agree to waive and release Studio and all of its owners, agents, and representatives and my fellow students from any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action on account of my personal injury, death or property damage which may occur from any cause during or attributable to said dance lessons or classes.
